Farm Activities

For guests who stay two or more nights at Ferguson Farmstay, your stay includes farm activities. These are activities for the whole family designed for guests to get a taste of country life.If you stay with us for one night, you are welcome to participate in farm activities for a one-off fee.

What are farm activities?
“Farm activities” is a short (approx. 1 – 1.5 hour) program for the whole family that includes feeding animals (goats, ponies, pigs, chickens, ducks, a kangaroo and rabbits) and a tractor ride to the back of the property to feed the bigger cows.

When do the farm activities start?
Farm activities usually starts at 8:30am. You are welcome to attend every morning of your stay. It is very casual, so you are welcome to come and go as you please.

What is the usual schedule?
The farm activities program begins with feeding the animals. This usually includes goats, sheep, ponies, emus, ducks and hens, rabbits, a pig and a kangaroo.
This will usually take about 30-45 minutes.
Parents and children of all ages are then invited to come with us on the tractor ride. Please don’t panic if the tractor departs without you – we often do more than one ride.
This will usually take 20 – 30 minutes in total.

Oh no I have slept in and missed the farm activities! Can I still feed the animals?
Of course! Outside this program you are most welcome to visit and feed the animals at your leisure. We promise they are always hungry.

Is there anything I should bring?
Yes – please bring your scrap bucket with your kitchen scraps! The animals will be very grateful.
